Chanhassen Storm Varsity Football: Spectator Allowance Information

Storm Families – This year’s sports season is like none other we’ve seen before.  With limitations on seasons, on spectators, and other “normal” parts of athletics, our focus this fall is on our student athletes.  The steps we are taking – in alignment with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) guidance – ensure we are doing everything we can to support a safe and healthy return to play. While football has traditionally been a community event within the Eastern Carver County School District, this season will look different.  Football games this fall will be just that – not community events but games. Per MDH and MDE guidelines, stadium spectator capacity is capped at 250.  This 250 spectator capacity will be split evenly between home and away teams, allowing for each competing school/community an allocation of 125 tickets.  Preference for these 125 tickets will be provided to the families of our Chanhassen Storm varsity... Fall 2020 Postseason Competition

Fall 2020 Postseason Competition The Board of Directors approved in a roll call vote League Staff’s proposed plans for section tournament play in Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country and Girls Swimming and Diving. Here is a snapshot: Girls Tennis — A team tournament held outdoors with high seeds hosting matches. Boys and Girls Soccer — Section 2AA games will be as follows: Wednesday, Oct. 14 = QF games Tuesday, Oct. 20 = SF games Thursday, Oct. 22 = Final games Girls Swimming and Diving — Swimming for Chanhassen High School will take place on October 23rd at 6pm – Chanhassen will swim at Minnetonka – No spectators – Diving for Chanhassen High School will take place on October 22nd at Shakopee. Athletic Season Calendar for the 2020-2021 School Year

Athletic Season Calendar for the 2020-2021 School Year On 10/1/20 The MSHSL Board of Directors approved in a roll call vote a maximized winter activities calendar that will trim 30 percent of contests. The approved plan provides flexible scheduling options for member schools and assists in minimizing exposure risks. Most spring activities will be pushed forward one week, with the exception of track and field and softball, which will move ahead two weeks. Lacrosse will have its traditional start date. Fall Sports Update – Volleyball, Football and Cheer

Below is important information from the MSHSL special board of directors meeting on 9/21/20, along with information regarding the registration process. With the decision, everyone will need to register for fall football and volleyball, even if you have signed up for the fall training session. Reminder that you will need to have a valid sports physical on file in the athletics office. Volleyball MSHSL vote:  14-4 in favor of moving back to fall Start Date: September 28th, 2020 First Potential Game Date: October 8th, 2020 Season outlook:  2 weeks of practice – 7 weeks of regular season matches, 2 weeks of post-season – TBD Registration:  Registration is now open – Click to register Additional Notes:  6 players on the court do not need to wear a mask. Fall Athletics Training Information

Fall Training Information Storm Nation – Per the Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors, a Fall Training season for volleyball, football and traditional spring sports has been approved.  These Fall Training Seasons are MSHSL sponsored programs. All MSHSL member schools have the authority to provide the entire Training Season, offer a reduced Training Season, or choose not to offer a Training Season. Volleyball and Football Fall Training Seasons: Start Date—September 14 End Date—October 3 Maximum Number of daily sessions per sport — 12 Spring Sport Fall Training Seasons: Start Date—October 5 End Date—October 24 Maximum Number of daily sessions per sport — 12 Please contact the head coaches directly for more information regarding the training season.  This is not mandatory, but rather a way for our student-athletes to connect while playing a sport they enjoy.  Athletes will need a valid physical to participate.
