Summer 2018 Chromebook Information

Will students be able to use the district-issued Chromebook during the summer? Students in grades three through eleven who were issued a Chromebook this year will be allowed to take their Chromebook home for the summer. During that time they will be responsible for taking care of their district-issued device.  If a family does not want their child to have the Chromebook over the summer, the student must return the Chromebook and charger to their school’s media center before leaving for the summer. When school resumes in the fall, the same Chromebook and charger will be returned to the student during the first week of school. Consider a Protection Plan to reduce or eliminate potential fees (chargers are not covered by the protection plan) from accidental loss or damage. Dick Ungar named Chanhassen High School Principal

Dick Ungar has been named principal of Chanhassen High School. He has been serving as interim principal since December and he is the right person to continue to lead the school. Mr. Ungar builds strong relationships and his skills working with students, staff and families are well-suited for Chanhassen High School. Mr. Ungar earned the position through a competitive hiring process that included internal and external candidates. A group of parents, teachers and district administrators helped to assess and interview qualified candidates. We are confident in Dick’s ability to lead and to continue to build on the strong academics and exceptional opportunities for students that characterize high school in Eastern Carver County Schools. Mr. Ungar has been part of Eastern Carver County Schools since 1993, starting as a middle school art teacher.
