Eastern Carver County School District is excited to announce that Douglas Bullinger will serve as Chanhassen High School’s next principal. Bullinger will start his role as soon as possible and follows Dick Ungar who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Bullinger has over 15 years of experience in education, serving most recently as Lead Principal at Hopkins High School. Prior to that position, he was the Continuous Improvement Coordinator at Mounds View Public Schools, where he also served as Associate Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. He started his career as a high school chemistry and physics teacher, working in both the Osseo and Edina school districts. Bullinger has also served as an adjunct instructor at the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, and St. Catherine University.
He received his bachelor of science in Chemistry, his master’s in education, and is currently pursuing his doctorate in education from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
Bullinger earned the position following a rigorous and thorough interview process that included multiple rounds of interviews with various stakeholders. His experience and commitment to instructional leadership, high levels of performance, and improving outcomes for every student make him an outstanding fit for the district and Chanhassen High School. We are proud to welcome Doug to our community of learners, teachers, and all who work to benefit young people.
